Structurally insulated panel systems (SIPs) have been used since the 1950’s in the USA and are also used extensively in Canada, Japan and Scandinavian Countries.
Recent changes in UK and European building regulations have resulted in developers and house builders using SIPs for new build projects to reduce air leakage and provide vastly superior thermally insulated buildings.
Sipfit specialise in Off Site Modern Methods of Construction and are BBA accredited. Our panel is made in a variety of depths to provide a range of U Values and has minimal thermal bridging. Sipfit can provide a variety of solutions that meet the increasing demands of Building Regulations up to Passive standard:
- Large format walls
- Volumetric Modular construction
- In Fill Panel
- Passive build
- Room in the Roof
- Extensions / Garden offices & dwellings
The systems in the UK have adapted the construction and site practice for the European market. Accurate foundations, mechanical handling and good scaffolding are all key requirements to exploit the potential of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) construction.
